FOX-9 TV reports two brothers, one a sex offender, are in jail for attempting a burglary on 17th Ave SE last Wednesday.

Deandre and Maurice June are in police custody and authorities suspect the burglars have been busy in southeast Minneapolis and at least one surrounding suburb, Roseville.

“The M.O. fits. These guys don't live in the area, no business being in the area but they were cruising the area for hours,” said Sgt. Tom Stiller of the Minneapolis Police Department.

Maurice June served time for a sex crime in 2005 and is out on parole.

Sgt. Stiller observed that the burglary might have led to a rape, as June is a predatory offender.

The resident has decided to move out of the neighborhood, saying, “the scariest part is thinking about what could have happened, as opposed to what did happen.”
