4 Hour Stand-off Ends with Arrest in SE

February 17, 2010 (Minneapolis) Shortly after 4 PM, police officers were called to 232 Cecil St SE for a man with a gun. Several construction workers were threatened by a neighbor, and later the neighbor came out of his home and fired a gun into the air. No one was hurt.

Minneapolis Police and U of M Police officers arrived on the scene took tactical positions near the home. SWAT officers were called in and made plans to contact the suspect. Negotiators tried to make phone contact with the suspect but were unsuccessful. Family and neighbors were contacted in efforts to talk to the suspect who was hunkered down in his home.

Officers were making final preparations to evacuate nearby homes and make a dynamic entry into the dwelling. Just then, the unarmed 55 YOA suspect walked out of his home after nearly 4 hours from the initial call. He was taken into custody and was booked for terroristic threats.
