Robbers Targeting Students

Police at the University of Minnesota issued a crime alert Monday after four nearly identical robberies occurred in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood near the campus late last week.

A pair of robbers targeted university students who live in the neighborhood, beating them up and stealing cash, credit cards, wallets and cell phones, police said.

The robberies occurred between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. last Thursday and Friday.

Anyone with information on the cases is asked to call the department at 612-624-2677.

On May 9, 2008, at the 2xx block of 8th St SE, Daniel Harrison Heacock was observed entering a garage and removing property. Incident was captured on video. Officers responded to a theft call. Heacock was recognized from video. Officers did a knock and talk and saw evidence from the thefts in plain view. Heacock was placed under arrest for burglary of dwelling and stolen property offenses. Heacock was transported to Hennepin County Jail and booked.

On May 30, 2009, at the intersection of Hayes St NE and Lowry Ave NE, Officers were dispatched to a burglary of dwelling in progress. Heacock was transported to Hennepin County Jail and booked for burglary and Hennepin County Warrant.

Kristine Carrol Noel (Date of Birth: 5/20/1974) is charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance. Noel was arrested on October 23rd, 2007, in the 4xx block of 6th Street SE as the result of a “Knock and Talk” investigation of a person with an outstanding felony warrant.
