UPDATE: Adam William Ivers was arrested without incident during a traffic stop in Robbinsdale. Evidence from the robberies was found in the vehicle he was driving.
Ivers has been identified in three separate pharmacy robberies. The case will now be presented to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for charges. The Eastside Defender will post any requests for Community Impact Statements issued by the prosecution.
Minneapolis Police have identified a man they believe is the suspect involved in two pharmacy robberies.
Police say Adam William Ivers, 26, used a gun to rob the Fairview Pharmacy at 2847 Johnson Street NE around 11 a.m. Monday. Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, the Walgreens at 2643 Central Avenue NE was robbed at gunpoint. Officers say Ivers threatened to kill employees.
In both instances Ivers got away with what police describe as 'a very large amount of prescription pain killers' or about 1,800 doses of oxycontin.
Ivers is described as a white male, six-feet one-inch tall, 178 pounds, with a medium build and very short light brown hair.
Authorities also noted they believe Ivers may be the same man behind the robbery of Fairview Pharmacy in January. The same pharmacists was on duty during both robberies.
If you spot Ivers, you're asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Minneapolis Police Department's Robbery Unit at (612) 673-3648.
